You Scotts have been busy beavers!

It has been a rather productive summer, project-wise. We also hung and I painted a new entry door that we bought three years ago and had been collecting dust down in the pantry. Since there won't be a Scotland trip this year we're going to use that time to finally construct the second half of the pool deck so the kids won't be chasing balls down over the hill when they hit them out of the pool.

Do you have a place to put planters of flowers that attract them?

I did a lot of back and forth about getting it as I have a 28-300 and the Tamron 35-150 which has been my favorite lens for over a year. But the extra reach in both directions plus the lighter weight settled the question plus the fact that the Z6 can handle much higher ISO which compensates for the slowness of the Z lens. Liam will eventually get the Tamron and I'll hang on to the 28-300 since it was recently purchased even though I'm getting spoiled by not having to deal with the FTZ adapter. I'm currently saving for the 20mm for night shooting and would eventually like to get the 100-400 when it comes available. Photography is such an expensive hobby, isn't it?!?
I did a lot of back and forth about getting it as ... (show quote)

Welllll - name a hobby that isn't. Mine collects and restores motorcycles...hmmm more $$ in them than in my photo tools. I feel vindicated when an image I've taken is selected for a calendar or places in a contest!! AND it is cheaper than a psychiatrist!. My camera keeps me somewhat sane.

Thanks! I'm really happy with the way the painted cabinets came out - they're so much nicer than the stained look.

Times, styles, and tastes change. You're too young to remember when everyone had avacado colored appliances!

I agree, JJ. We've done a lot of projects - and hardly made a dent.

Absolutely! You should see all the tools Chuck has in his workshop - although, his woodworking has saved us thousands of dollars in custom cabinetry - my photographic reward so far has been inclusion in a calendar ($300) and in a couple of magazines - ego boosts and bragging rights! But of course, it's far, far better than having a drinking or a drug problem!
