its time for a butterfly,supposed to take 10 to 12 days today is 13 days
yesterday it jerked when i clanged some glass to close to it

Actually, females might take a bit longer since they are bigger. It might emerge around dawn, which is the safest time.

About 12 hours before emerging it should start to darken. It will become translucent and color features will be visible.
Monarchs are lime green until the time comes. From all I've read over the years, it is improve the chances for survival.
Papilio chrysalis look like broken off twig stumps. Once eclosing begins it happen quickly.
First bit of business is to get the wings pumped up and find sunlight to warm up and harden them.
