As one of those rare people who doesn't own a smartphone (no reception on Bald Mountain (thankfully)!!) I'll just enjoy seeing what you folks are able to accomplish with yours.

Not too rare, Sue. I don't have a smart phone either. I call mine the Dumb Phone.(flip phone)

I have a cheap smart phone, my first. It doesn't take great photos but I use it when I go on long bike rides.

Presidential helicopter, Nixon Library, Yorba Linda

Childhood home of the Beach Boys, Hawthorne

The Pirate Tower, Laguna Beach

Hollywood sign

Cemetery rides

p1. Seems so odd to see images from you that aren't underwater! The pirate tower is something we'd never see here. We have WW1 bunkers instead (or are they WWII - I can never remember)

The best camera, so the saying goes, is the one you have with you. Most of us have phones with cameras which is now another niche for imaging with more sophisticated cameras with each new model. Apps are many. For this challenge, please post only photos taken with your phone and let us know what apps you use on your phone. All editing, for this challenge, should be done on your phone. For my iPhone 8S, my apps are: Lightroom, Fused, Pixlr, BeFunky,Focus and Snapseed. Many of these apps are available for other platforms. All but Lightroom are free, although some are now limiting free use with most tools in "pro" versions which = $$.

These were taken in portrait mode, and processed in "Focus" (which lets me change aperture and add bokeh), BeFunky and Snapseed. Unfortunately, I didn't write down which program.
The best camera, so the saying goes, is the one yo... (show quote)

Nice start off Pat. Have a smartphone, take candids mostly with it. See what I can come up with this week sometime to post.

My wife in her new (aged care) home april 2020. I Phone 11. Mostly SOC except possibly for a bit of cropping.

p.1 Thanks, Richard. Your wife looks settled in and well cared for. It must be a worry these days. I'm not liking this stage of life... I hear the iPhone 11 is super. Any image I've seen from them has been good.

Thanks. I was shooting it with my “real” camera, but it was nothing spectacular so I gave up and put it away. My wife then said, “Look again.” With no time because it was changing rapidly, I pulled out my phone and shot this. Apparently the credit needs to go to her.

After years of ribbing from his many friends, when it was time to turn in my phone and upgrade, there was a 2 for 1 special and I was shocked when he said we'd do that (Old phone went to grandson). Since then, he is never far from his phone and loves talking to Siri! Our grandson looked at me one day (he's now 15) and said , "Boy! Grampie has changed since he got his iPhone!" His flip phone got a proper burial...
