We’ve (a he and a she) been lurk’n for a couple of weeks and enjoying the posts and pix. It’s time to join and learn with and from you all. Even though we’ve owned a few different cameras over the years we are still learning and just a couple of enthusiastic South Central Tx Snappers.

A couple of our favorites enclosed.

Welcome aboard! All three photos look good. The only thing that I might change is in the flower shot, I think I would of taken out the dead flower at bottom center. Keep shooting and posting.

Thank you Sinatra for the warm welcome and the positive comments. The flowers were taken with a small point and shoot camera. The goose w/Nikon D-90, and the puffball w/ a D-40. All were taken by "she" snapper, the real potographer in the family.

Ja,

Thanks again.

This site looks like a cool place to share in the fun.

Nice catch on the dead flower in the foreground. I have a version edited w/o the power line to the right but I will have to see if I can clone the dead guy out too.

Keep up the "good-eye".

If the dead flower was in the shot when you took the photograph then why remove it? The photograph as is shows the natural progression of a flower garden.
Now that the shot has been taken you can deadhead it so the stem will re-bloom.

I’m so confused. Dead bud, it stays, but the power line is gone. This added butterfly pic has the beautiful bokeh of dead grass in the background.

You know what they say about the weather in SC Tx?

“It’s a constant drought, with occasional flooding.”

C’mon Rain!

The Morning Glory was enhanced w/Capture NX2 using color points and high contrast. The second two are taken with Nikon D-90. The Mexican Sunflowers are with a Kodak Point and shoot. (edited in PS elements)

nice photographs. What wrong with the dead grass it add a color spectrum to the picture giving it a pastel or watercolor effect. The backgroung yellows compliment the color of the butterfly. Here's a few ohio butterflies or maybe they're hummers.

Dennis,

I like the Dead Grass effect too. It keeps the pic from being a “Same Ole Butterfly” shot. It’s also a little over exposed, but seems to work.

I like your Hummers too. They are one of my favorites, so very hard to get a really great catch on one though. Your center pic is sweet, and the bottom one has the hidden competitor that is always present. Bzzzzt.

Keep on snapping.

Thank you. I find them quite easy to photograph all you need is a garden and that's where I take all my hummer shots.

She Snapper plants them, waters them, and then takes their picture. Then the He Snapper fixes them up on the computer. Together, we get lucky once in a while. Thanks for everyone’s comments.

Keep on snap’n….. 8-)
