My daughter gave us a bird feeder that attaches to the outside of our window. We loaded it up with birdfeed, and immediately got.................... squirrels. This little guy seems to be surprised at the quality of the buffet.

What a wonderful capture, Gym!! If you'd rather have birds, try safflower seed (the brown variety is best). Squirrels don't like it, but plenty of birds do.

Albeit if you want to eliminate squirrels in your buffer line try thistle seeds. Small song birds love them... squirrels, not so much... although mice unfortunate do... Maybe try using a feeder with a "catch" plate directly below the thistle seeds.
