I'm a Creature of the Night

This is a brown moth that came in through the door late last night as I stood with it open calling one of our dogs in that would rather ignore me as though it were deaf. It's amazing how their hearing returns when they hear the dog food being put into the dog bowls.
I staged this moth for a focus stacking session which was a bit tricky due to the white scales on its headpiece and antenna. Anyone who shoots high contrast subjects can relate to this issue. After tweaking the exposure compensation I was able to get some of the detail to reveal in the bright white scales.

I'm always amazed by moth details. Their 'fur' reminds me of carpet. Beautiful download, Sippy!

Thanks, Donna. My sessions are the way that I keep my body and mind active and it is also a passion within me. Sharing them with others has become a large and enjoyable part of it as well.
