Another excellent set, Joe. I have been on roads similar to that in the Rockies in my younger days.

Thank you very much Ken. Yes, road conditions have definitely improved a lot during our long lifetimes! Less adventuresome now, but at my age, that is fine with me - but I am glad I experienced the thrills of yesteryear!

Been avidly viewing your preceding Arabian Peninsula sets, and each have their merits. This set, however, tops all the rest. Major kudos, sir!

Thank you very much Jim for your very kind comment. I am very happy that you like the overall series on the Arabian Peninsula and that you particularly enjoy this set. These mountains were definitely one of the major highlights of the trip, but there were so many others, I would have a hard time to say which one I liked best. I am doing here a very lengthy presentation of very different aspects of this interesting country, and of course some aspects will be more interesting or colorful or action-filled than others, but I am trying to convey an overall view of this amazing place. Thank you so much for following this series and taking the time to comment, I very much appreciate it. Joe

Wow! Really nice set - you show the beauty of a dry and arid land.

Not much explaining to do here in this set: we are making our way down on the mostly narrow, fairly rough gravel and rock-strewn mountain road, frequently with sheer cliffs on both side of the road and have quite a few white-knuckle moments - while I am a fairly avid and adventurous driver myself, I was glad that I did not have to sit behind the steering wheel on this segment of the trip.

In a couple of photos, we find the "blue rocks" that some viewers in the earlier segments were mentioning.

Note that all of these pictures were taken from a moving car - whereby the word "moving" is a very generous label: leaping, jumping, shuddering, twisting and turning would basically be more appropriate descriptions.

I look forward to your comments and questions and recommend viewing the downloads.

Wow....more rugged terrain. Thanks Joe. That had to be scary at times I'll guess.
