I (finally) got my D6 review posted! It's geared towards wildlife (surprise) and was done over a 5 week period:

Even though I am not in the market for a new camera it looks very desireable, and a great review.

I’m not sure but I think I’m in love. Since the birth of the Canon AE-1, I have loved using Canon. With the birth of the Nikon D6, I may just sell my old equipment. To buy this new beast it may be the second love coming the first time around.
I loved the video and gobbled up every minute.

Happy Shooting!

I visit a number of Youtube photo bloggers and Steve is the best -- most honest and thorough reviewer.

I watched this video and have to say Steve did a superb job and I learned a few things along the way about the new focusing system I plan to try. Steve is the best!

Hi Steve, thanks for such an in-depth review. It's much appreciated. I am primarily a press photographer but do like to take shoot landscape, portraits and BIF/wildlife. I have a trio of Nikon bodies - D5/D850/Z7.

The Z7 I use primarily for work as well as landscape. The D5 for BIF/wildlife because of its superior AF than the D850. Do you think the D6 is an enough of an improvement for BIF/wildlife AF to warrant an upgrade from the D5? Or should I wait for that rumored magical Z8/9? :)

Many thanks,
Dave

Steve's videos are always great. Very informative and always easy to follow. I have a D850 so I don't think a D6 is in my future but it sure is a beast.

Hi Steve, thanks for such an in-depth review. It'... (show quote)

It really depends - the D6 is better than the D5 only in the more extreme scenarios (normal BIF isn't one of those - fast, small BIF is). If you shoot really fast, extreme stuff, then you will notice a difference and it may be worthwhile. I can tell you that for most of my work, either camera will get me what I want.

As for the Z series - right now there is nothing that leads me to believe they will be at D6 (or D5) level anytime soon. That doesn't mean they won't be at that level soon - just that there's nothing out there by Nikon to indicate it (that I know of).
