Great Blue Heron locked in on a fish.
A really nice action shot.
I love the way you have the GBH coming into the shot. Great framing and it gives the images more action.

Thanks, This was just one of several shots. The GBH crashed into the water but didn’t get its prey. I thought this shot was most indicative of the process I witnessed.
Great capture. I have never seen that type of activity from a GBH before. Thanks for posting
I have seen chasing activity before but not this aerial attack. Apparently he had been watching the ospreys and decided to try it himself.
Thanks to all! Fortunately this pandemic hasn’t stopped me from taking pictures and seeing nature although, a lot of the birds are not very active in the summer’s 100+ degree days. They do come to the water, though. Far south Texas has a lot of native flycatchers, roadrunners, raptors, thrashers, mockingbirds, yellow billed cuckoos, wrens, buntings, blackbirds, doves, well...really a lot to photograph.
