Kingston, NY On The Hudson River - Boats and Osprey

Put the boat in yesterday and took a ride down river to Kingston which borders the Roundout Creek. A ride up the creek is always interesting. Spotted a 90 yr old wooden tug. Congrats to the owner for keeping it alive. Also saw a wooden boat school. I never knew that wooden boats went to school! Perhaps the tug is one of the instructors! Also got some shots of juvenile Osprey in their nest atop a derelict crane. Appeared to be four. They seem to be doing quite well.

I'm especially drawn to old wooden boats, especially mahogany dual-cowl-speed-boats.
I'm amazed that the wood-hull tug boat is still in service after all these years. Love it!

Terrific series...all are excellent captures and the lighthouse in #1 is one of the nicest designed lighthouse's I've seen!!

It is quite surprising that it is in as good shape as it appears to be after all these years. Of course, a large percentage of the wood has probably been replaced at least once.
