You know to come to a full stop at stop signs and to use your turn signal, but there are some wacky rules of the road you may not know about. Here are some crazy driving laws that may surprise you. ------------------------
KEEP TIRES CLEAN - Before you visit Minnetonka, Minnesota, make sure your car is clean. Dirty tires that “deposit mud, dirt, stick substances, litter or other material on the street or highway” could lead to a hefty fine.
NO DRIVING WHILE BLINDFOLDED - Keeping your eyes on the road seems obvious when driving, right? Well, Alabama officials have made it illegal to drive when blindfolded.
NO DISROBING - Don’t even think about changing your clothes in the car in Long Island’s South Fork. According to the blog on esurance.com, it’s illegal to disrobe in your car.
DID YOU HIT A DEER WHILE DRIVING? - If you hit and kill a deer on an Illinois road, you can claim the road kill under two conditions—if you don’t owe child support and if you haven’t had your wildlife privileges suspended in USA.
HONK BEFORE PASSING - When driving in New Jersey, you better hope your horn works. DMV.org reports New Jersey residents are required by law to honk before passing.
IMPROPER OPENING OF CAR DOOR - Don’t get stuck with your car door open for too long in Oregon. It doesn’t matter if you’re loading or unloading cargo or people from your vehicle, you can be fined for leaving the door open for too long.
DON'T STORE TRASH IN VEHICLE - Don’t forget to take the trash out of your car when you’re in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports it’s against the law to store trash in your vehicle.
NO SWEARING - Watch your mouth when driving in Rockville, Maryland. No profanity is allowed—it’s considered a misdemeanor.
I would like to see reference to the actual laws that these things claim exist. You see this stuff all the time, but they never point you to the statute or ordinance so you can read it for yourself.

Here's one for you Max that sometimes comes up in these lists;
Horse racing on highway - 173.
No person shall race or drive furiously any horse or other animal on a highway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 173.
That is the highway traffic act, province of Ontario, Canada. R.S.O. is revised statutes of Ontario

Back when many highways were two lane, it was the law in NC to honk when passing, and once so notified, it was the obligation of the car being passed to do everything reasonable to assist you in completing the pass. No idea if that law is still on the books, but I remember it well from my first DL test in ‘62.
Stop at a STOP sign, signal before turning?
When did these become law?

Always been the law where I come from. Full stop, and turn signals are always required when making a turn.

Having pulled many people over years ago for failing to stop and they would say but I slowed down and it was safe to go and I would say stop means stop, that means all four tires stop turning, STOP.
Signalling on the other hand was a touch different as our laws said you had to signal if it would affect other traffic, not sure if that is still the same or has changed here.
Watching todays drivers rolling through stops, cutting in and out of traffic without signals and generally just ignorant driving is painful.

This actually happened. A friend of mine (God rest his soul) told an NC State Trooper who stopped him for
failing to stop at a stop sign: "If I were going to Florida and stopped at every stop sign, I would never get
there!"
Many motorists evidently aren't aware that coming to a full stop at a red light before making a right turn is the law. I made a full stop at a red light before making a right turn onto the entrance ramp of an interstate highway and the man in the truck behind me threw up his hands as if to say what the hell are you doing. I was hoping his destination was the same as mine because I was going to walk up to him and explain the law in simple enough language that he could understand.
The old blue laws still on the books in the 60's and 70's were crazy. In St. Louis as well as Dallas stores were not allowed on Sundays to sell anything related to work. In St. Louis I tried to buy some car wax on Sunday only to be told that according to the law they could not sell it. Crazy.
In Texas, we had a “Blue Law” to keep stores from being open on Sunday for non-essential items. But.....the law was written as... cannot be open 7 days a week; not a specific day. So.....one enterprising store closed on Saturday and opened on Sunday. Became very successful.

I think it is against the law in Florida to drive without having your turn signal flashing all the time!!

Seinfeld called it the eventual left turn.
In Florida we have more cars that seem to be driving by themselves- no driver visible- Zombie driving
Everybody knows you have to stop on red, but there’s no law saying you have to go on green🤪.
