We spent the day at Paul's mother's house - as with all such gatherings, it began with food - lots of it!

Here are a few photos taken at the Joint Armed Forces Training Center, Los Alamitos, CA. The base was closed to the public, but fortunately I live close by, and set up in an area close to the base. Thanks for posting.

The "kids" came down and we had a cookout and while 3 of the guys slept, The oldest grandson, his mother, and I played some games on our deck. He IS "Trouble" - a game favorite because he loves sending everyone back to home base and the game can go on for hours!

I hate ribs... I always eat twice as many as I should...
then somebody brings potato salad...corn on the cob.. pickles
and omg... I hate ribs...
ok... I lie .... a lot... and over eat... ribs, and brisket, and pulled pork, and chicken....

but I always tell the truth... when it's almost better than mine... ;-)...

And that is exactly how it goes!

Fireworks !!! Happy 4th !! (and 5th, and 6th..)
Saturday night we went to the Rising Star Casino...
you really can't take a camera in there...
But Sunday Night,,,,
Aurora just plain lit up the river...

p.4 You must have won big at the casino that they would celebrate your wins in such grandeur!! Love the tree before and finale.

On the actual 4th, Lightroom, Photoshop and I spent some quality time working on pix from our mini trip. And some more seltzer pix (red. white and blue at least) that I took yesterday.

Thankfully, I only gained a half pound and only had a very, very small slice of the pie. The crust was made with butter instead of shortening and was the best I've ever tasted - well worth a small gain!

Congratulations! I need to lose about 20 pounds and Chuck needs to shed 40 - we're both very tired of being overweight!

Once again we went to Mountain Harbor Resort and Marina, this year the restaurant where we usually eat inside before venturing down to our pretty much reserved seating area was only doing curbside or on site deliveries (Rooms and Cabins) so we ate Subway Sandwiches and Chips on a floating patio area. After the Fireworks while packing up my stuff I somehow managed to drop the connector cord to my Free Wave Remote AAArg..we went back this morning to look for it but it wasn't there..Hopefully I can get a replacement for it before we leave for the Beach on the 25th..Guess what I just found it.. It must have fallen out when I took the camera out of my go bag when I came into the computer room to download my Images, I feel like such a stooge now..lol

These are some of what I captured. all taken with the 50mm lens at 4 sec. , F/11, ISO/100 (Fireworks that is) The Sunset was at 1/60, F/11, ISO/100

Wife had a dual surgery on June 30. She has been told not to sit up on her own or do anything beyond eat, sleep or go to the bathroom. I’m her nurse, cook and maid for the next few days and full recovery won’t be until mid August. And the dishwasher died, so here’s how I saw Independence Day.

Oh, that's right - you were having health problems - that is a rough way to lose the weight!
