Possibly a type of slug? I haven't seen any that are curly like that. We mostly have banana slugs here. That would be my best guess.

Did you find them in your garden? At first I thought they were some type of marine life. Where do you live?

Thanks for the reply.
I live in the Sacramento Valley in California.
let me tell you what they do.
they start off from those white sacks you see in the bucket and some with in a hour emerge and that is that long Orange hollow stalk and the tip has brown gouge that later drys and then open up like fingers on your hand all spared out
. and when they are in the first stage they are in a big clutch.and i cut one of them open, just the outer white skin it looks like some type of animal.
These things are so bizarre like from a different planet or some thing.in 55 years on this earth have never witnessed
any thing like this.a friend of a friend said it was a mushroom
sight unseen, but i have my doubts. So any ideas would be nice. And thanks for your time.
Bill....

Crazy, I think it's alien. Any landings in your area? Lol.

I know a lot about mushrooms and that is unlike any type of fungi I have ever seen, however Sacramento is one of the fungi capitals of the world and has almost 5,000 different types of mushrooms alone. Break one open and smell it, if it smell's mushroomy, it's most likely a type of mushroom.
