I have a great interest in photography, but not a lot of confidence. I will be reading this blog with great enthusiasum! I have a Nikon D50. I live in the Mid Atlantic but love taking pictures on the family ranch in the Southwest.

Like the colors - like the textures. Can't say if it would make it better or worse but I might have tried a little tighter crop - lose the sky all together. Looks like it was shot in pretty direct light also - maybe a little more satuaration for deeper colors and or adust your levels if you do photo editing. Thanks for the view.

Have to agree with Mr NotnoBuddah. I would crop out all the sky and background hill. fill the frame with the wheel and side of the wagon. this is an excellant texture shot with the peeling paint and faded colors.

much nicer. by eliminating the non important info in the photo you make the viewer concentrate on the center of interest. I would duplicate this shot and convert it to black and white or sepiatone to see what it would look like. 8-) :)

Good comments sinatraman, kellymom64 that is why I like this forum, constructive comments are put out and some try them. It does not cost anything but time and in this case makes the photo a keeper.

Thank you Rich. As I try and let the newbies know, photography is subjective. Give 5 different photographers the same subject you will get 5 different aproaches followed by an hours heated discussion of whose camera is better. :D The other point I try to make is that in the long run the only person whose opinion matters is the photographers himself. If he/she has an emotional reaction of any kind to the photo then it is perfect
