Hi All -
After lurking for longer than I should have, I finally decided to join. Being home as a result of the coronavirus lockdown made the decision easy. I hope I can contribute a tiny bit to the giant knowledge base that is here. Thanks to all of you, I have learned a lot.
I started my photography journey shooting TriX using my Minolta x700 and developing the film in my college and then my friend's darkroom. Real life kicked in and photography took a back seat. After a few years, I picked up my first digital camera - a Canon Rebel XT and I absolutely hated digital. It just wasn't the same and I couldn't get into it no matter how much I tried. Real life gave me an excuse to put digital photography to the side. A few years ago I decided to try again. My camera is now the Canon T6s and I'm still working on making it an extension of me -- like my old Minolta was. Thanks to all of you, I am making progress. It's slow going but at least it's going.
Nice to meet you.

Welcome, Gloria. Glad you decided to make the jump to join in. Sounds as though your photographic journey was very similar to my, including my dislike of digital when I got my first digital way close to 20 years ago. Only difference is I’m a Nikon shooter, rather than Canon. It will take a while, but your Canon WILL feel like an extension of yourself just as your old Minolta was. I don’t feel like myself without my Nikon D500 in my hand.
