Well, with Social Distancing now there are no picnic gatherings in the park so there is little for a Black Ant to do except walk around aimlessly now.

So...I found some walking around the driveway as I was setting out the trash containers and I brought one for a photo session and this is it.

Thanks, these are the fellows that always come uninvited to the picnic.

The anatomy is just amazing, and you show it so well in this and all your photos.

Thanks, this is what the front view of its mandibles look like so you can see how strong their bite is for their size.

Thanks, there truly are monsters among us. Fortunately for us they are all quite small.

Wow Sippy, incredible capture. Those Japanese film makers from the 1950s would love to have had this technology back then for their "scary" science fiction movies.

Thanks for making me smile! I remember how primitive those movies were back then yet at the time they scared the poop out of us as kids. I watch them now at times just to entertain myself and I get a kick out of how the words do not match up with the movements of the mouths.

Perhaps it's a good thing that, "They just don't make them like they used to" for some things.

Thanks, I always try to bring views that are seldom seen with the unaided eye.
