Our local neighborhood website has a request for an "ISO Deck Table." I doubt this has anything to do with Photography, but it did catch my attention.

Well, they could be looking (In Search Of) for a table, made by ISO, that is ISO compliant.......

I imagine that it is "In Search Of", but ISO is also an organization which sets standards for many industries besides photography.

It obviously means a table that looks great in low light...

Maybe not.

ISO is a brand. I found this on Amazon but can't find the deck table.

Amazing! That company must have been started by a photographer.

They have a deck. They want a table. They are In Search of One.

More likely a company that wanted to make people think they were ISO 9001 certified when they are not. ISO 9001 certification is a very expensive process.

Not necessarily, since the International Standards Organization is well-known in every industry.

"ASA" is the American version of "ISO", just as "DIN" is the German version. Over time, the ISO has been gathering standards from around the world and making just one international standard.
