Importing Raw and JPEG in Lightroom

I shoot both Raw and JPEG and manage them in Lightroom 4.1. I can't figure out how to import ONLY the JPEG or ONLY the Raw files from the camera without specifically checking them individually. When I view them prior to import, the file names of the Raw files and JPEG files are identical except for the suffixes. If there is an import filter that can be applied, I am not aware. When I get them into Lightroom I would like to manage the Raw and JPEGs separately. Is there some method that I can employ to make this happen during import without checking them individually? If not, is there some method to segregate them after import without individual handling? I am referring to several hundred photos at times or perhaps even thousands, so individually checking them can be time consuming. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks
Dan

Not sure if they can be segregated by LR, but you could segregate them prior and create matching folders, one for raw and one for jpeg.

Once downloaded from camera, if you sort by size, all raw images will be grouped together as will all jpegs. Then put them in separate folders, e.g. "2012.09.20 raw" and "2012.09.20 jpegs". Or one folder (named appropriately) with two sub-folders, "raw" and "jpeg".
