Our yard is a miniature natural jungle. It busts with tiny colorful plants that some may call weeds although I refer to them as photo session possibilities.

Areas of the yard are starting to pop with wild strawberries that are starting to open their buds of red cluster. I picked on of them this morning and brought it in for a focus stacking session. This one is at 3X power magnification and a 224 image stack processed into one image with Zerene Stacker.

Pretty great.

They just started blooming here and I was out shooting some blossoms minutes ago.

Thanks, I was asked to show the relative size of the strawberry so I placed it onto a piece of white paper next to a dime. The camera focused on the strawberry so the dime is out of focus.

As a child, mother would send us out to pick these tiny strawberries, it would take the 5 of us hours to get enough for strawberries to soak on baked crust. You can imagine how many of these would be in a quart by looking at sippyjug104 second photo.

The mark of a great photo is not image quality rather it is the ability to have emotional impact bring forth a memory or to tell a story. Thank you sippyjug104, I haven't remembered those tiny strawberries in decades. Yes, eventually we planted the gigantic plastic fruit strawberry plants, we went modern.

Thanks, Donna. I feel sad for my neighbors with their immaculately groomed yards and lush thick grass. They are missing all of Mother Nature's lovely colors that dot our yard as an inviting place for her creatures to make their way in life. Plus...it gives me something to do right outside our door.

Thanks and you are ever so correct. I see posted images and read narratives at times that bring back a flood of memories that give me warmth inside. We live by the present moment and we are made from all of the experiences past. I can't imagine what life would be like without memories.

Bill (newtoyou) mentioned in a post that he had gotten some bullfrogs and that brought back memories of my grandfather taking me to the slew with him on the spring nights to get frogs where I got to hold the flashlight and the potato sack that he put the frogs in. It was another one of those warming memories that only an old person like me knows how they feel when they appear.
