I believe the Pro 100 was once upon a time being sold at B&H with a free paper pack for $499 with a $250.00 rebate. I see that today the printer alone is $499 with a $150 rebate. Or you can add the paper pack for an extra $50 ($548) and still only get a $150 rebate. In other words no discount for the paper.

Is the $499 printer and free paper with $250 rebate a recurring sale or have I missed out? Not in any rush so can wait if it comes around again.

Not interested in HP, Epson or any other printer as I have 2 full batches of Canon ink for the Pro 100.

It used to be a rebate that was available all the time. But things change. I'm sure that around the holidays B&H will have sales and Canon will have larger rebates, and you'll score big if you wait. I bought the Pro-1000 printer during a holiday sale and got it for less that a grand. Normally it would be about $1,300 after rebate. They will probably have better deals from time to time too. It may not be as good as the Good Friday, Cyber Monday or Christmas sales, but they will have better deals from time to time.

Try your local craigslist. There are usually Pro 100 printers available for anywhere from $100-$200. Just be careful to get one with the printheads and ink. Usually they are "sealed box with the bar code missing for rebate purposes."

Got mine 3 or 4 years ago from B&H for $120.

It's become a popular printer and probably not discounted as often as it use to be.

Around that same time I got a fantastic deal on Canon Photo paper.
Though I've been watching, have not seen that type of paper deal since.

As another member mentioned, you may have to wait for the black friday, cyber monday, etc.
for a good discount.

When I bought it from B&H, my net cost was $50 and B&H included 50 sheets of 13x19 paper. I didn’t need another printer, but my wife even approved the purchase at that price. In addition to printing photos, I use it to print posters.

I believe the Rebate is via Canon. They have had deep rebates from time to time. But right now with Tariffs and Virus slow downs in the supply chains Canon is likely pulling back on give-a-ways.

If you need the printer.....buy it. If not wait. I have used mine for over 5 years and i think it is great. I use third paper and ink.

I agree, both with respect to waiting and use of 3rd party ink and paper. My general experience has been that the better deals and packages during any given year appear in the fall and before Christmas.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I will wait till the sales come back as I am in no rush. I am currently using a Canon ipf8400 (44") for my printing needs but having a smaller printer would be nice.

Realizing that you asked about the Pro 100, I'll still mention that I heard that Murphy's Camera out of Louisville and Lexington, KY have the Pro 10 on sale with a net cost of $199 with a double rebate. I tried calling earlier today (Sunday the 24th), but they're closed on Sundays, so I can't confirm that price. The source was Mike Ling of Precision Colors a week ago on a video interview with Jose Rodriguez, so I'm sure it not just a rumor, but as I said, I haven't been able to confirm it. I can say that Murphy's website notes the Canon $200 rebate, and says that additional rebates "may be available."

It's the same size, but weighs more, as the Pro 100, and it uses pigment ink, if fading is a concern of yours.

All I can say till tomorrow.

Barry
