My hats off to my wife. She spotted this nest when she was out. Called me and told me actually where to find it. Sure enough not long after I showed up mom was home with lunch.
There is not a lot of room left in the nest. They are close to leaving.
I'm afraid your nest is in a rather precarious building zone, Frank. Are you addicted to compositing now? I can offer a support group contact, if needed

LOL yes I need a understanding support group. Hi my name is Frank and I am a compositor.
My wife found the nest on a electrical box on the side of a fieldhouse. So I thought that she and the family needed an upgrade.
After your comment, I thought a remodeling job was in order.

That burl (?) sure is photogenic.
I wonder about moving the nest so it appears to be back further; that would probably require showing less of the nest itself (just a peek of the top of the nest + all the bird action). I'm stuck between reality and fanciful here - but that's my problem, not yours

I already have plans to for the huge nob. To my eye it looks like hideous face. That is why I originally took the shot. With the idea that I would be using it in some kind of composite. For this shot I cropped most of it out.
As for moving the nest so as to just show the top, that is also an option available. This is why I like working and improving my composites. The door is wide open when it comes to creating a composite.

Neat to hear you're compiling a library of images. I've been doing that with texture candidates + skies.
Yep, the sky's the limit with playful pp!

That is nicely done. I love the details in the wood. The mother is very sharp although some of the chicks seem to have been moving just a tad too quickly for your shutter. No matter. The important elements are sharp. Good photo.

Thanks, as I mentioned to Linda, they were on an electrical box from a field house. The shutter speed was rather slow. If I remember correctly 1/30.
Like most kids the kids They couldn’t sit still wanting to be fed. 😀 So it was either getting the mother or the chicks sharp. But not both.
