It's simple. The Canadians that I know that have come south for medical care came south for elective care. Plastic surgery is not considered a necessity and therefore not covered. One can purchase additional insurance that covers that sort of thing, but it's expensive. So are the procedures in Canada. Paying cash in the U.S. usually results in a lower cost. So, it's less expensive to have those procedures done in the U.S.

Only for non-life threatening elective procedures for which there is a wait in Canada. If universal healthcare is so bad, why are we the only major nation without it?
