Spotted Beetle

The sun came out this morning and I was able to take a short walk with the camera in hand. I came across a tiny bright pink beetle with black spots which I brought back for a focus stacking session. This image was staged at 4X power magnification.

Very nice! This is the pink ladybug. Once super common, but now not so much, owing I think to competition with the invasive Asian ladybug. I might see one in a whole summer.

Thanks, Mark. I find them from time to time and the pink is quite electric in color as it stands out on the green leaves.
