Be glad that you got to see it before the crowds and commercializion that is present today. Great photos, appreciate you sharing from your archive.
I'd like to go again, even with the crowds. But our growing population tends to overwhelm many 'classic' sites with visitors making a check mark on their bucket list. My first visit was without camera, age 5, in 1954. My last in the 1980's. Just not enough time!
