Hoverfly eggs.

I wanted to take a stack but didn't have the time so I have just this quick picture. I found these Hoverfly eggs on a Water Iris flower bud in a small pond. I haven't seen them before and just thought it might be interesting to you. They seem to be dented?

Wow indeed! Love the textures. I don't know why some are dented. Dehydrated, I expect, but I don't know if that is normal.

Those are really cool & a great shot of a neat find. Are you going to raise them? I'd love to see some shots of the larvae eating aphids.

Thanks, I left them where they were so won't be raising them but given another opportunity I may try to raise them. I shot a larva eating aphids as picture below shows.

Thanks! Very nice/interesting. I must have missed the post. I guess the aphids are too absorbed in eating to run away?
