I really don't feel like establishing an account with National Geographic in order to read an article.

I clicked on it and it opened right up, no account set up.
I clicked it opened then after a few seconds it said I had 3 free viewings, then it asked me to sign up for a “free” account so they could send me free info on things i might be interested in. We call that SPAM. I’m sorry, Nat Geo is a good publication but no thanks to the SPAM.

Apparently you have a Nat. Geo subscription? Good for you. That is a quality mag.

I remember in 8th grade (1958-59) the library of the school had some going back to the 1920's and I and a few other kids skimmed through as many as we could in one year of school.
I just opened the link or an email in my inbox "promotion" tab. Read many articles with no problem. One time a window pops up for free membership. I closed it and that was all the noise I got from NG
I have an email address that I never check. I established it just for this kind of thing. They want my email address? I give them that one. I go to that address maybe every 6 months and just empty it, without looking at any of them. Problem solved.

On my end, I was able to read a sentence or two, but as soon as I rolled a window popped up telling me up sign up to continue reading, 3 free articles. I closed the window with the close x, and it sent me back to the hog. I did his twice and gave up.
This appears to be a "4 Minute Read". Seems to be a short overview. So I don't believe this is the full article.
Looks like you can view a total of 4 a month ("You have three left")
National Geographic covers a wide range of topics -- not just photography but also items that are photographic subjects.
Seems like a free "window" on other happenings.
