....."THE OLDEST PHOTOGRAPH YOU TOOK"...… Mine's most likely in Photo Heaven! When a child.... an aunt & uncle gave me a camera & a kit that one could develop their own pictures. I used it briefly! The pictures were small and turned very dark after several years. So....those are long gone! But I did some digging around today and I've carried this old black photo album around with me all my life with pages that are disintegrating, but the pictures still have life!

Managed to set several aside, copied them and put into my PC. I've done very little to them. Some are blurry, might have a spot on them and even a couple that have some paper stuck to them! I'm actually pleased with several of them anyways! These were taken with an upgraded camera from my 1st one....it was a Brownie Kodak! The film would go to the drug store to be developed.

It appears these were all taken in the 1950's and I was probably 11 to 17 years of age. Looks like I practiced on my brother, Cindy....the baby girl next door, our cats , snow and a couple of misc scenic shots. Please enjoy some of my oldest photographs......since the oldest one is long gone. I may need to do more than one post so hope I don't bore anyone. It's been fun digging for these this evening. Bob

Didn't have a chance to get to my first albums today, but this is the oldest one I have scanned into my computer. It was taken around 1966. I have no idea what camera I would have had, but I know it was a film camera. I had always wanted a dog and never had one until I was a newly graduated nurse. Two colleagues were moving and couldn't take their dog with them. Callie became mine and lived with my friends for several months until I moved. He was everything I ever wanted in a dog - smart, intuitive, did tricks, loved kids, and was a great companion. Here he is with my youngest sister who was maybe 8 at the time. It was Callie's birthday and she made him a goodie and insisted they both wear hats - he seemed to enjoy every moment of it. He was a shepherd/collie mix.

Pg 1 - Like you, Pat, I don't have many of my images captured on film scanned into a digital format. I did do a few, but over the years HP quite updating the drivers for my iMac, and I hate to but another multi-purpose machine when everything else works so well.

I love this image of your little sister and your wonderful canine....dogs are the best!

Thanks Tim for hosting such a great challenge, I enjoyed the photos.

Photo of my my brother, made when I was 8 and he was almost 2. I received a camera for Christmas a twin lens kodak. The first photos I made with it was a bunch of WWII models in the snow. That a friend and I had made. I Believe those photos and negatives are lost. This Photo is from a roll of film my father developed in the kitchen sink. It was contact printed.

Thank you dane004.....for posting your 1st photo showing your brother. It got me to thinking about my own brother and so I did some digging around through my collection of my early photos so I could enter this challenge. Like you said.....some photos are lost. Nice to make use of some that still remain! Bob PG 1

Thanks PAT......Yes, those old albums do fall apart. I'll probably be picking up little black scrapbook pieces of paper for the next couple of days between my desk and the basement! This has taken awhile to complete and I guess it's time for some dinner! Lost track of time!! Thanks also for your earlier message. Much appreciated.

As I mentioned earlier, almost all of my "earliest" images I took have never been digitized. I know I took some in the mid-50's, but really got serious in the mid-60's, and unfortunately, they're all in a big, big box somewhere...lol

The ones that I was able to scan before HP quit updating drivers for my printer date back to the late 60's or very, very early 70's...certainly not the "oldest photograph(s) I took," but the oldest I have available. And some of these I've posted before, so I'll apologize in advance...

Enjoy.
Tim

These are so fun!! Lake Winnepesaukee is not far from us. And I bet everyone who took pix has similar shits - just different parts of the country. Love it.
