I've researched a 24 x 24 Inches Table Top Photo Studio Continous Lighting LED Light Shooting Tent Box Kit that runs $69.00. Does anyone have ideas on a similar set up that is cheaper? Thanks for your help.

Sounds reasonable for a 24 x 24 Inches Table Top Photo Studio Continous Lighting LED Light Shooting Tent Box Kit. Found one for $49, if it is the same kit? Don't know about shipping?

Another one on Ebay for $49 with Free Shipping

1. Obtain large cardboard packing box 24x24 or more
2. Spray paint interior the color you want - I would use flat white paint
3. cut holes for lights as you want, cover with white cheese cloth that lights can shine through - I would only put one or two in the side that will be the top
4. obtain small LED lights if you don't have some already and position as wanted/needed
5. sit box on table with opening on the side where you will position your camera
6. position subjects, take pictures

Alternate, build a 24x24 or larger cubic frame and cover with thin inexpensive cloth* from sewing store (or use an old sheet) on five sides.
Set up lights-don't have to LED, cloth will soften the light - to shine through cloth as you want. Position subjects, set up camera and take pictures.

If you find you like doing this kind of work and want/need something more then blow your money on a manufactured one.

*You can also use white poster board/heavy paper (or the color of your choice).

I have set up table top studios for macro work as small at about 8x8 inches using cloth draped over boxes a small LED light + daylight from one side + and LED pen light for spot lighting. Sample below, using blue surgical hand towels as the "floor and backdrop". Yes, I modified the color to dark gray in one of the shots.

Just a note about Wish. Products come from China so don't expect them sooner than a month or more (despite its touts), despite the pictures the quality is likely to be inferior to US made items, and forget about "expected arrival" notifications.

I ordered 6 items on April 19th. So far I have received 2 (just this week).

Another way to try it out is to get some pvc pipe at a hardware store and build a box/framework. Cover with thin cloth or paper and light from above/ side. Construction paper or similar can provide a seamless background. Works well and breaks down with minimal space requirements at that point

Your photos are awesome! Well lit, composed and really show off the delicacy of your subject. Did you focus stack?

Go to Hobby Lobby and buy your own board and make one up......can't be that hard to do.

Is a set up like this one what you would use if you were wanting to take pictures (create a digital copy for storage/printing) of old pictures? Appreciate everyone's ideas for future macro work!

...a copy stand setup is best for that, where you're shooting straight down and the subject is lit by angled lites from the sides. Most would say scanning is best for old pics...but I've done both with success and kinda like the speed of the copy stand method.

I have one of these, https://www.adorama.com/pypstdkt65.html It's quite convenient as it folds into an easy to carry package. Though used with studio strobes instead of the provided LED lights, here are some results.

The price is just less your price range but is worth it.

I have one of those white folding boxes, but I've never had a need for a light kit. If it's too dark, it's easy enough to position lights outside the box.

Yes, using a Helicon FB Tube. These were shots towards the end of the day of my first use of the tube, some of the first ones had focus gaps until I learned how many shots to use.

I just finished a light box today. The box is from U-Haul, Large-18x18x24 in. I cut openings in the sides ,leaving 2 inches around the edges. I used Interfacing that my wife had. You can get it from a fabric store. I have heard others have used white tissue paper.Poster board, white and black are from a Dollar Store. At first I used masking tape to keep the trimmed poster board in place but today I cut narrow holes in the top and added large binder clips to make it easier to change poster boards. I have 2 goose neck lamps, about $7.00 each from Amazon or Walmart.I started out with 60 watt bulbs but today I changed to 40 Watt. I hope this helps.

This is super! I added your post with a link to the Close-Up Forum's "Tutorials by UHH Members"

To the OP: in that thread are two more DIY options.
