I am glad I was born human! Do spiders seeing themselves in a mirror have self-recognition? Excellent captures; viewing the download is a must.

I note that the EXIF says you used the most expensive equipment, camera-lens combo, and software: NOT.
This should be a lesson to Newbies that how one uses what they have is key to excellent captures.

He used an MP-E65mm f/2.8 1-5x lens, not the 60mm macro...That lens is a highly specialized lens...Not easy to use either...

all I know that jumping spiders see their reflection in the lens and then jump at it, I've removed numerous of them off my gear over the years............so my gist is they see the reflection as a meal or a competitor that needs running off their turf...........

me too, yes i use a mpe-65 on a canon t6i i was a nikon user for years,i only switched for the mpe-65 but i still use nikon occasionally
