I have now after 17 years returned to PS. Lots of changes Ofer the years, but in PS I will attempt more of the B&W.

No toning on yours? The first Barn pic of mine has no toning. The other two have Selenium toning.

I will play....I don't do B&W very often..just can't seem to get the balance right on most of them but here are two that I think turned out good.

To be honest, I was unaware of the "Toning" effect using the gradient map until your comment... I will now most certainly experiment with it, as the tones of your third image of the maps is really outstanding. Thanks for the tip!
