Nature on PBS has a whole series featuring these amazing spy creatures.
The first episode of season 2 which aired this week on most stations featured a frigate bird which could fly (like a drone), then lower his legs, spread his feet and land on the beach!
The episodes can usually be streamed for free just after airing, then require a PBS memebership.

I watched both links this morning and they are fascinating. I too could not help wondering how all that wonderful video footage from all those angles and perspectives were done. Either way, this wonderful.
The critter-cams are amazing. Last year there was a snowball one for observing Polar Bears. If I remember correctly at least one of those was destroyed.
