Well, I'm not that old I guess, but I will be 68 in about two months.

Other than my teenage experiences with a Kodak Instamatic and flashcubes, and a short (and expensive) time with a Polaroid Swinger hanging from my wrist at Toroto's Expo 67 World's Fair, my first "real" 35mm camera was a Yashica Electro 35 GSN. Man, I loved that camera. The way the shutter and film advance felt was well worth the money I paid for it back in the mid-70s. I was crazy to have sold it, but such is life.

In those days, I was addicted to b&w, shooting, developing and printing. I was amazed at how relatively easy it all was.

Now I'm in the mood for a new journey, ... 120 b&w film, old-school, medium format, hopefully 6x6.

I recently bought a few cameras from the first half of the last century to see what I can capture and what I can learn.

I expect tons of mistakes, and many over-exposures, but I still plan to develop the film myself. But after that, it will be scanning and digitized manipulation for me.

I don't think you can go wrong with an old twin lens, such as Rolleiflex or Yashica 124G. They are both 6x6, have excellent lenses and are very quiet.

Not too old? You are just a child unless you made the mistake of growing up sometime along the way Reliving the good times is something old people do. You are starting a New adventure. Enjoy every step along the way. New cameras and films to learn along with new processing skills. Enjoy every step along the way, I envy you.

You aren't old. And welcome to UHH. I've got an old Canon AE1P and Yashica 35 mm's. Maybe I should dust them off and use them...perhaps.

Welcome to the forum! You're just a bit younger than I am...I, too had a Yashica Electro 35 (the original model) which gave me effortless pics, but didn't offer much control. Your plan to enjoy some vintage gear is also something I did. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I for one would love to see your results. Again, welcome. And keep shooting.

I will also be 68 in two months, perhaps we should have a joint Virtual (Covid) birthday party and not invite each other or anyone else.
Good luck on Re establishing this photography affliction.
