I played around with a shot from our last Scotland trip yesterday to see if a rather ordinary image could be made a bit more eye-catching. Here's the progression and the result - cropping is our friend!

How neat that you will be able to record their growth!

Nice results SueScott! I agreed that "cropping is our friend" sometimes. Especially nice when we can see a picture within a picture! These days.....since an abundance of time is at hand.....I've been doing some spring cleaning of some of my photo files. Some get deleted, others bring back wonderful memories! And of course more get created as we crop! Bob

So nice to see sunny, summer country views on another grey, rainy day! (This part of Ohio is in danger of becoming "Water World" - BUT, thankful that we're not having a drought which would be far worse!)
No Host-Just Post...... And adding a 2nd post with a little bit of traveling within the U.S. from a couple of our road trips. Bob

Thank you SueScott…..for your "sunny" comment! Of course these are from the files and our day's a bit grey also, but nice that we all have these sunshine moments at our fingertips to share or peek at..... at any moment. You must be receiving some of the heavier rains that apparently decided to skip over Indiana!

Can't wait to see the hatchlings.

SueScott I agree that the crop was the way to go. Would you be willing to try a different cropping suggestion?
As I was looking at your original image, cropping out the people on the left was the way to go. My suggestion is that you keep all three phone boxes in the shot but crop it at the trash bin, (keeping it in the frame) so the crop removes the walking people on the right. The phone boxes would lead your eye to the girl walking. I hope that you don't feel that I am being critical of your work, as I said it is only a suggestion.

We've basically had the same weather since November - cold, rainy, grey, depressing!!

I would have kept the third phone box (the three of them are iconic features of the Royal Mile) but was going for the light reflected in the glass of the other two plus the the hair of the girl and the third box didn't show that. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll do some more playing with this - being able to go back for more tweaking is one of the things I love about LR!
Edit: I went back and did a quick re-cropping - it now shows a progression of the lighting as well as being a more balanced image which I think I prefer. Thanks!
