I have been considering upgrading from my current Canon 50D to the Canon EOS 7D Mark II. I mainly photograph landscapes and wild life. I have read that this camera is great for sports and other fast moving objects like birds.
My question is would it still be a good purchase for landscape photography.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

It's my main camera, and I do a lot of landscape photography. I like it a lot.

I upgraded from a 40D to the 7dii last year. I shoot wildlife, landscapes, macro and street scenes. I love the camera for the first three (a bit large for the last, but then the 40D was too). The auto focus system and 10 fps shooting speed is great for birds. I also appreciate the weather sealing although I have not had the opportunity to use it in particularly bad weather. The build quality definitely feels better than the 40D. The menus and control layout will feel very familiar, which is important. I have heard that the dynamic range and noise are not as good as some newer sensors but it is a lot better that the 40D.

The bigger and heavier 7D is head & shoulders above the 50D, you shouldn't any problem with landscape.

NO , not a GOOD choice. ......and yes, my seatbelt is buckled and I am ready for the back lash from all the people who own one !

If you are serious about your main focus being birds in flight or fast moving sports - then the 7DII is a viable/best choice. But, for ANY other purpose - there are better choices today.

For BIF and fast moving subjects I go to my 7Dii...landscape my go to is a 5DSr...but the camera I’m having the most fun for the last few months is the Fuji X-T3 with various adapted Canon FD lenses. If I could only have one, I could live with either of the three but I would lust after the other two. Good luck with your upgrade...it never ends

I have owned two different ones - traded the first and then missed it so found a guy whose family all couldn't be bothered with learning it and bought his.
It is a good camera for general purposes and great at action, sports, birds etc.

Now I am waiting on the latest round of rumors that Canon is going to bring out the III version or a new line to take over and replace it. When that happens the II will still be just as good but the prices will drop again.

At its old age now, the only good buy for a 7DII is a used / discounted purchase. For a new purchase, an EOS 90D is a better choice.

I upgraded about a year ago from a 60D to the 7Dii and LOVE it. Purchased used of course, upgraded the firmware and at $800 a year ago nothing can touch it in my opinion! A 90D will cost $1,200. My interests cover a wide range and this is a delight (to me) all round.

I think a good lens designed for wide-angle landscapes would be a greater concern.

I have a 70D and a fair amount of lens (including the Tamron 150-600MM for wildlife and the excellent Macro (105MM)). Could I use the Fuji X-T3 with these.

I am looking to upgrade also and have same interests. Thanks!

Do yourself a favor, go with the 6D Mark II. Canon came out with the 7D to cheaply bridge a gap between the 70, 80, 90 crop sensor series and the full frame series, 6D, 5D. It's not made well compared to the 6D
