One last winter storm

I hope that is the last! We just had three days of freezing temperatures, snow and ice.

The Kalm's St. Johnswort shrub is covered in ice, and the green leaves are Nodding wild onion. You can see a little frost damage on the onion leaves. The chipmunks are extremely tame here, but for some reason they don't like the 400mm lens and run for their lives when I point it at them. I can walk right up to within inches of them with a 50mm lens on the camera, no problem. But not the 400mm.

I really like this image. The subject is tack sharp which gives it a level of three dimensionality. Plus, it is simply interesting and tells a bit of a story.

Really great capture. You can almost hear him thinking 'Oh no not again!'. Really hard to beat a 'nifty 50'

What a lovely image, Mike, and what a cute little model! I love the rich color of its fur against the icy ground. So many different textures and tones there. Hope this is the last blast of winter for you, Mike.

Thanks, Donna. The ten day forecast doesn't call for any freezing.

Thanks. They are out and about now and nothing seems to drive them back to their winter dens.

Thank you, Jack. It was not what I was after, but sometimes an interesting opportunity presents itself.

Thanks, Johnny. They are cute. They have the run of the place. I am thinking of just putting them on the title for the house - "Chip Munk & family."
