Hey Everyone! I want to take better pictures and increase my photo knowledge by joining, reviewing, and taking advice. I take pictures of my kids sport teams and a family wedding.
If you really want to learn about digital photography and get better at it, there is a series of books by photographer author Scott Kelby called The Digital Photography Book. I believe there are 5 books in the series. These books are easy and fun to read and easy to follow and really quite informative. You can learn at your own pace and have fun while learning. Read the books and practice, practice, practice. If you want to chat about photography, the UHH is a good place for that.

Thank you for sharing that link. As a photographer who is neither fast nor slow, I am just a half fast photographer, I believe I can benefit from the help and advice not only here on UHH but also from courses such as you suggested. I signed up for it at a discount and from initial review I think it will be quite beneficial to many photographers from beginner to experienced and advanced level. I would recommend the course to any and all who would like to have something more formal regarding photographic education. Again, thank you for the link.

You are more than welcome. Yes, some courses are FREE and if there is a certain course you like but the price is an issue if you wait it will go on sale. I've seen high priced courses at a very steep discount some as low as $10. Also, I really like being able to stop the course and then rejoin at my leisure along with being able to review the lesson if I didn't get it the first time and it's available any day, any time. Some years ago I took a course to learn to shoot manual and it was a real eye-opener for me and I highly recommend it. I believe it's still available and the name of the course is Ditch Auto-Start Shooting in Manual by Jared Hill. Wishing you the best and one thing I will mention is practice, practice, and practice.

I did a similar course a few years ago and found it beneficial in many ways. I figure this course will be the next several steps in improving my photographic expertise. As for practice, I do that regularly and as often as possible. I also think I'll check into the Ditch Auto course.
A warm welcome to the family.
