P38 will chew a hole in your pocket!

The OPs photo shows the P 38 in the helmets headband. It could be lost but in your pocket it can be lost after it chews the hole. I kept mine in a pouch on my belt but still managed to lose a few.

So last month when I decided to host this "Anything Military" Challenge but I didn't realize how quickly everything was going to change with the Coronavirus.

My son is in Basic Training (Boot Camp) at Fort Benning, Georgia. He left home Jan 13th and we had been looking forward to seeing him for a few days for family day on March 26th. He was planning to show me around the base so he and I could take photos together and spend some quality time together but that quickly changed as family day and graduations have all been cancelled until further notice. No family members are aloud on base, my only way of communicating with my son now is through letters as they are not aloud their phones while they are training.

So now I am scrambling trying to find some Military photos to take. Thank goodness my son collects WWII items that are still in his bedroom.

So let me see your military photos but please be careful out there and remember the social distancing rule.
Hope you are all healthy and keeping safe out there. I don't go anywhere without gloves and a mask on these days. Once a week to the grocery store and that's it for me.

My son Sam and I wrote letters while he was in the Navy, we did get to attend his grad. from Boot Camp in San Diego and where he was stationed afterwoods. He wrote letters when he was on the USS Carl Vinson CVN70. and he called from Hong Kong and Singapore.

Lori, I am so sorry you won't be able to spend any time with your son. With the coronavirus, many of us are in the same boat...our son and his family only live a mile away, and we haven't seen them for over three weeks. I hope you will be able to see him soon, and even talk to him on the phone sooner.

I'm afraid that the only "military" images I have are from "The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" and various images from the National Cemetery...with things the way they are, I'd prefer not to post them at this time.

We all have to find a way to help one another, love one another and rejoice in Him.

Veterans attending the Remagen Bridge reenactment, 2018. The man in the sepia image took part in the allied mop-up action a week after the actual battle.
