This Forum does not have much activity, and I am not surprised - there is not much here to attract it. Those visiting who do not ‘fit’ are given the ‘cold shoulder’ - or even worse, as I was about two years ago, consigned to Hades for questioning the ‘6000 year old earth’. The early church was known for it’s unconditional love - and within 300 years spread all over the Roman Empire, only spluttering to a crawl when ‘religion’ moved in. I returned to this website a few weeks ago and to me, The “General Chit-Chat (non-photography talk)” with the fun - and yes concern for each other, is IMHO more Christian than this one. Am I being as bit too critical? Perhaps - if so, please forgive. My wife joined Jesus six years ago and I miss having her by my side. This is a photograph taken on the path along the lakeshore park where my wife and I used to walk.

A lovely walk. Do you still walk there? Doing so in remembrance of your wife might be therapeutic.

Hi David,
Yes, now and agin, that is until this COVID-19 closed all these local parks. while with very few people there would be little danger from that 'bug', there are no park staff and anyone getting into problems would not get any help. This is a real concern for me as I am in my mid-80's and a fall is a real possibility - especially on days like the picture below.

There are so many who don't understand the difference between 'religion' (man's way to try to reach God) and Christianity (God's way to try to reach man). Religion always gets in the way of reaching God.

I am so sorry for your experience here. Humans, even Believers, sometimes fail us but Father God never will. We are in a process of becoming more like Him and thankfully blessed that if we truly repent when we fail, we will be forgiven, grow and go forward. I believe all mean well here. Let's enjoy, bless and love one another. I will post a photo later. On cell now.

Hi domcomm, you have put the difference 'in a nutshell'. Jesus told us what God is looking for in Matthew 25:31-40 Not one word about 'religion' and the important point is that they had no idea they were doing exactly what God wants.
In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus tells us that those 'up to the neck' in 'religion' are rejected.

Absolutely true! Christianity is the only belief system where the God of the universe reaches down to His creation - and I am so thankful that He does!

Hello CSand,
You demonstrate the truth of John 13:34-35. Thanks for your reply. I agree with you that " all mean well here". With this COVID-19 I am stuck at home - fortunately family are making sure that I have all I need. By the look of things, it could be 'summer' before I can go for another walk in the park. This is a Sunset over a lake just North of where I live.

Good Morning Stan. What a beautiful photo. See one of my favorite verses above, Psa.113:3. It is indeed trying to stay cooped up. I have to remind myself to quit grumbling. My family is so blessed. God is so good. We had heavy rain yesterday and it washed away lots of yellow pollen that the south experiences each spring. Looks like my husband and I can work in our garden this afternoon. Feel the sun on our faces, smell the dirt and view the flowering trees. I pray you have an outside, safe situation that you can enjoy. Hangeth in there. He will see us through. Sandy

Hi Sandy, Don’t think of it as ‘being cooped up’, it is a time without rush or pressure to spend with your husband. It will give him opportunity to keep Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. The time you spend together is, in a very real way, ‘Praising God’.

Yes, I have an ‘outside’ that is safe. After my wife Shirley died, Family were not happy about me living alone - so last year they built me a home next to theirs. Last week the ground was still covered with snow, so this is a photo I took from the back of the house last Fall.

Stan.

Hi Sandy,

My original post was " This Forum does not have much activity.". The next question should be "WHY does this Forum "not have much activity ? " Or perhaps " What drives those who visit away ? ".

Mr Squirrel seems to be saying " It ain't much fun being here alone"

I suspect this forum has little activity for several reasons. First, because it has little activity, persons posting would rather do so on one that is more accessed. Second, because many folks (myself included) thought that it was intended for posting photos with a religious content, came here, and found it had more discussion than photos and (see First) decided to post elsewhere. Third, a lot of people don't take photos that have a Christian meaning (at least, an obvious one) and don't think about this forum.

Hi David, Shall we give it a go once more. I feel there is room for liberty here. Photos with religious content, photos that bless us with scripture, and photos taken by Brothers and Sisters that just express God's glory and the beauty of His creation. I personally would hope no more "clanging gongs". Photos that express encouraging sentiments in this day and time would be a good thing. I plan to post one of those in a few minutes. And photos taken by our Brothers and Sisters just because they please to share just for enjoyment. I appreciate knowing you are all out there. Love and blessings to each.

Love your pesky friend! Have a yard full of them that drive my two dogs nuts. Literally!
