With more people shopping online, Amazon has had to prioritize it's shipping. I find it interesting that beauty comes before food, and they both come before scientific.
Baby products
Health and household
Beauty and personal care (including personal care appliances)
Grocery
Industrial and scientific
Pet supplies

Then your dog food will be delivered the same day.
In what ways are they prioritizing?
I have been shopping for accessory items for video lighting (e.g., diffusers, stand adapters, etc.) and the stated ship dates are invariably and exactly two months out. This seems deliberate.
Oddly, it seems that Neewer brand products ship faster than others, which is unfortunate because i have a low opinion of their products. YMMV.
I have gone ahead and ordered some items despite the wait time, and on one or two orders I received updated shipping estimates a few weeks sooner, but still not immediate.
Anyway, it is clear that whatever products are high on their priority list, accessory photo gear is NOT among them.

Baby you can understand. Health items and household cleaners are very important.Personal care. soap, toothpaste shampoo. Just because the $hit has hit the fan you don't want to wear it. Gotta keep tidy. Food yes, you should have some on hand and not be in dire straights. So you can hold out a little while. If you are involved in industrial and scientific endeavors Amazon is not your go to supplier. Pets can eat scraps. Decisions made during difficult times are always wrong. The face in the crowd always knows better.
Recent revelations show how badly Mayor De Blasio of NYC handled the first awareness of the virus. He and the President have a lot in common.

You have gotten that right.
I was going to order a 24-70f2.8
For an upcoming small wedding shoot and they were going to make me wait until the middle of next month to ship it.
I cancelled the order and found one for close to the same price elsewhere and it's arriving Monday
I ordered a toner cartridge for my printer from Amazon and got a shipping date estimate of one month. Three days after I got the shipping estimate of one month I got a message it would arrive in three days.

It probably has a lot to do with supply, items manufactured in China and other countries hit hard by Corona Virus are becoming scarce.

I agree that a lot of the Neewer products are flimsy in comparison to other brands but I have found their line of batteries and chargers are very good. I have ordered at least a half dozen of them and they perform
as well as OEM batteries.
I don' order anything on Ebay from China -you might wait forever otherwise companies in the US on EBay are very prompt...

My daughter asked for advice on getting a new camera. I looked online and gave her the specs I thought would work for her. Then I looked for pricing. She uses prime a lot so I checked it out. I also found that B&H offered the same price so I recommended ordering from them. First of all it supports a valuable dealer and second I could not predict where a camera would fit into their priorities for shipping.
