In high school, I had an English teacher who introduced me to photography. I've been shooting photos ever since (Does anyone remember Tri-X?!?). Currently, I'm trying to master the use of off-camera strobe flash lighting. I've always thought of photography as "painting with light", so I thought this would be a good ambition to shoot more than just pretty pictures. I look forward to learning here, as well as admiring good photography.

Welcome to UHH. I remember Tri-X and used to use it almost exclusively for 35mm work. However, Kodak has ceased making a lot of their films in the formats I use. So, I've switched to Ilford.

I remember Tri-X, Plus X and Panatomic X were my favorites for B&W.

Yes, remember Tri-X well. It's what I shot exclusively for a couple of years - My Nikon "F" worked well with it. Conditions on the streets were not ideal so Tri-X ended up getting "push processed to 1500 or so" It did well...
