Unusual for TV! I was amazed that at the end of the Daytona 500, after Denny Hamlin won the race, the first thing the owner (Joe Gibbs) did was gather his whole crew together to pray.

I was amazed that at the end of the Daytona 500, after Denny Hamlin won the race, the first thing the owner (Joe Gibbs) did was gather his whole crew together to pray. Normally, TV networks don't show such a thing if it happens, but this time they zoomed right in and even talked about it. Awesome!

Besides showing a group praying, as posted by domcomm, NASCAR is good about including God in their programming. Part of the pre-race activity
always includes a prayer by a member of MRO (Motor Racing Outreach) or a local pastor just before the singing of the national anthem.

The NASCAR chaplain used to be (not sure if his son took over) Kenny Crosswhite. Great man of God. If you ever get to hear him talk, he is a fantastic speaker and always delivers a strong Christian message - even when he is just entertaining with his NASCAR stories ! He was a teaching pastor at our church for a number of years and we miss him. He often talked about the owners and crews in NASCAR and their devotion to the Lord first and foremost.
