Hi, I'm Danny from St. Helena Island in the South Atlantic.
I've been in to photography for a number of years & from 2003 until a month ago, was shooting on a Konica Minolta A2 bridge camera. I have recently bought new kit consisting of Nikon D5100 body, Sigma 18 - 250 DC OS HSM lens extra battery & a (non-genuine) Battery Grip. Anyone else using the above combination of camera & lens?
Cheers,
Danny.

Welcome Danny! Glad to have you with us. Sounds like a good combo. I have a Nikon D300s and way to many lenses. I favorite one right now is the 28-300. Show us a few shots.

Hi Danny, i dont use nikon but there are many here that do. A welcome to you to the hog is all i can say for now. Someone here will most assuredly be able to help you. Hang in there.
Hi Danny, welcome to the forum :)
Hi and thanks for the feed-back. Just would like to know thoughts on the Sigma 18-250 Lens; - it had pretty good reviews in a recent photography mag, but found it a bit "soft" when trying a few landscape shots. . . . perhaps I should try taking the aperture down to around f11 at 100 ISO???
Hi from New Zealand Danny, have not been in here long myself, but really enjoy the Hog.picked up some pointers.
Cheers
Welcome to the UHH
Hi, thanks for the welcome. This truly is a world-wide group of enthusiasts.
What camera are you using? As I mentioned, Ive just bought the Nikon D5100, but the weather here is still horrible; (overcast, misty & foggy), so haven't gotten out with it much; want to get some landscape shots.
