I can sympathise, it’s the selections that take time. Assuming you’re in Ps, I’ve found ‘Select Subject’ quite useful but rather than carry on with the selection tool I then add or subtract as necessary using the lasso tool. Finally, back to the selection tool to use ‘Refine and Mask’. The method seems to speed things up a bit.
