new effort, three figures separate shots brought together with a painted background and then an attempt to color them and turn it into a fantasy image. I'm doing a better job with masks on specific items so that I can make adjustments to specific areas..

Nice. What does it look like with just the flesh colorized?

hi Chuck -thanks- I wish I could say - I did the helmets first and Then I got organized. So I could show you what they look like with only the helmets colorized, but that would be stupid...

To your point, it kind of looks interesting the way it is (I did not expect it to look half way OK with just the heads colorized - probably because of the faces...) - having fun and practicing.

Chuck - but since I did have helmet masks - I just threw a quick desaturation on them, so it wasn't hard to do... You can see how the helmets have been darkened by levels.. -- edit, and now that I have a saturation control on them, I expect that when I bring the color back on them, it will be more subdued...

hey, is fun to play with, I thought it was a real interesting idea and I learned from it - will be no easy process to get all the different materials to feel right..

It occurs to me that the level of detail is impossible to appreciate on a computer monitor. Have you printed any of these works, Piet?

Is your "better work" with masking a result of hours of painstaking practice, or have you recently picked up specific tips you can share?

I am in awe of both your patience and your vision!

No, I have not printed any of this silliness, but if I ever learn how to draw, then I can add detail back into interesting bird shots and print some of that some day..

I can only say that when you watch most "artists" at work on youTube and such, they are always masking and keeping good organization. So I convinced myself that if a given work is worth giving an effort to, it is worth masking particular items and keeping things organized. Then at the end we can always slap-dash things around in a freer fashion.

Specific tip: Be organized, Mask

Good organization and masking, well that leaves me out.

Looks like a good start to another interesting project. I am a fan the supernatural and can't wait to see how the witch comes out. Please keep us posted as you procede.

Please keep us posted on your progress. The detail in the casting is difficult to appreciate on the computer screen.

thanks Guyserman --

further progress for today, knowing that always when I am finished I can throw textures and other filters at the beast to unify it. Kind of looks like a comic book..
