The Old Enron Building, now Chevron

This view of the old Enron building was taken while standing in Freedmen's town, which is in Houston's old fourth ward located south east of downtown. The area was settled by former slaves after emancipation was proclaimed in Texas on June 19, 1865. Notwithstanding the current gentrification, some of the area's original brick road roads are still visible. It's a pity that there are so many telephone poles and lines cluttering this photograph.

You're right, it is a shame and it would be a nightmare to get rid of them in post-processing. Nice capture though.

My heart goes out to you on the power pole and power line problem. It is bad like that almost everywhere here in Korea. It really takes the fun out of architecture. Anyway, nice shot and thanks for sharing. :-)

Don't just wish overhead lines would go away?

I used to think it would be less expensive to bury them but I met an Army engineer one day and the topic came up and he said it is actually more economical to use poles. Much to the anguish of cityscape photographers :/
