The official ski hill is 6 miles up in Rossland, so we use all available resources down here in Trail!
And yes it is that steep in West Trail and the buses do go up there.
I can remember watching these guys prepare some of the runs, lot of hard work involved and as it turned out, well worth it

COOL. I skied for ten years. I moved from long Island to the Hudson Valley of New York to start working as a Corrections Officer, I got a call from my Uncle asking me if I wanted to learn how to snow ski, a year latter I found my self in Colorado in the town of Breckinridge for a 10 day vacation learning how to ski. The first few days I slid more than skied but at the end of our vacation I was hooked and we spent the next 9 winters skiing in New Hampshire and Vermont, and on my days off I would go to some of the local spots. I then got married and hung my ski boots up. The ten years skiing with my uncle were a blast, sadly he passed at the age of 78, a year and a half ago two years to the month of my fathers passing.
Me thinks he would need a new pair of skis when he is done. Wait a minute, on second thought they are rented.
Love that in the last scene the destination of the bus is Uphill. Thanks for sharing it.

It gives a whole new meaning to a chairlift.
Fun video. He almost caught the overhead power wires.

Is there a special ski wax for use with 3" of slush on a base of asphalt??? That is pretty amazing skiing, and an excellent video production. Thanks for bringing it to us.

They worked a good week making this course and we got about 6-8 inches of snow. They we're almost finished and it started to rain so all the snow on the streets got washed away.
Good eyes Joe!

I was a skier in New Hampshire, Colorado & Lake Tahoe. I would never have skied on asphalt or crushed rock intentionally. The only helicopter moves I made were unintentional. But I skied through trees and down cornices, downhill runs (mercy me-I didn't mean to) and KT22 (the Olympic downhill run at Squaw Valley. I don't believe I put myself into the peril this skier did and I think I would have had a blast trying his moves. I'm just too old, with two replaced knees, who gave the skies a retirement party. Fun to ski vicariously.
