Bird feeder blues.

It is against the law to feed deer in Michigan
so this must be a Great Horned Squirrel, a new
breed native to my yard.
They are also known to be perverted window peepers. Looking
in the door wall from about 5 feet out. I think they are saying excuse me but
the feeder is empty.
Next is a child apprentice at take your son to work day.
Last is a mug shot of the deer when the police caught up with him.
He was sentenced to a short term of freedom followed by stew meat.

You've got some damn big squirels in your backyard (horned ones too)!

Thanks for the levity. Between the deer and the squirrels I am surprised my birds get any feed at all.

The squirrels don't appreciate the deer eating the bird food that the squirrels think is theirs.

Love them! My friend was telling me that someone put a lot of corn out where he hunts and put a sign next to it that said "This corn is for the squirrels only! Any deer or bear caught eating it will be shot!" I doubt this would pass DNR rules.

Love the pics, however .... Baiting a site never qualified as hunting in my book...... And I used to hunt.

olemikey, I could not agree more. I have lots of guns and paper targets is all they shoot at unless I have something around the home that poses a threat to family or my pets! Baiting removes all sport from taking a deer or bear.

I too am a sport shooter, target shooter these days, it is another fine hobby that I enjoy, due to cost, noise and not wanting to frighten neighbors, mostly air guns these days..... I have absolutely no problem with hunting, but sitting in a blind, or on a stand over a pile of bait or a feeding station isn't it..... Probably shouldn't have posted that way.....

Obviously your feeder isn't high enough. I once had a bear take the whole feeder - pole and all.

Stopped feeding birds after that.
