Lumix FZ1000 - ergonomics, picture quality

I have one of these, and totally agree with your assessment. It also has superb video capability.

My Bridge collection includes an FZ200 ,a GF3C w/coupler for Nikon glass, and 2 TSes
a 3 and a 5 (I think...buried in 2 gloveboxes). Shoot with a D750 when I feel strong. I'm
a very young 83 (or 17 on a REALLY GOOD day!!!).

I have a Panasonic Lumix fz70. It seems to take great pictures, with great details, and it captures what I'm looking at. It has plenty of options.

I JUST bought(Saturday) a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000M2.... I looked at several different cameras, and decided on the 1000M2. being a member of UHH for several years, I picked up enough knowledge to easily make the decision
to get this camera. Thank you, UHH members!

I should get the camera by Monday, or Tuesday, next week.

I just purchased a Nikon p950, for no other reason than to play around with. I follow a woman on Facebook who posts incredible shots that she gets with her p1000 and thought I would give bridge cameras another try. I did have a Panasonic FZ300 which I enjoyed using but the pictures always seemed a bit soft. I also shot with the Nikon d3 and a Nikon d7500 but the bridge camera is just to have close at hand at all times. So I will once again learn how to get the best photos with the p950 because I think the issue with the Fz300 was me not the camera.

I use a Sony RX10M3 and now the RX10M4. I shoot manual and jpegs only. I just love this camera. I does everything I want and with sharp detail. Here's some samples: http://www.flickr.com/photos/james-frazier/albums/72157678229950722/

Have an FZ200, a GF5K, a GF3C, and three TZ somethings (in each of my 3 gloveboxes).
The FZ200 is a genuine winner, with F2.8 all the way through. The GF5K, with coupler allows me to carry (ugh) lots of Nikon F glass for an AF experience.

Well, I guess jumping into a 2.5 year old thread is ok... better late than Never. I have the ORIGINAL bridge camera; Sony DSC-R1 with Carl Zeiss lens and 10.3 MP APS-C sensor... This convinced me of the Lens first concept... Best micro contrast of ANY lens I have used since.

I have a Sony RX10IV.
What I really love about this camera is the Optical Steady Shot Image stabilization.
Clear Image Zoom which makes the 600mm lens at full extension into a 2400mm lens at f4.
Excellent nighttime photos.

Beautiful work. I hope to make the Sony my next camera. I am tired of lugging a bag containing various lenses.

I own a Sony RX10M4 bridge camera. I choice this camera over the Panasonic P1000 camera due to the different features this camera has over the Panasonic. The main feature is that Sony has a Zeiss lens and I have a few for my a99ii camera.
