D850 sounds right for birding
It is. Better with the grip & en- 18 battery attached, = 9 frames per second. You could always pic that up later. There is a you tuber, Hudson Henry of course on you tube who mentioned he was going to put his up for sale but sounded like he was in no rush to do it. So it might still be available. He moved over to the Z system. Other than that check Nikon , B&H, Adorama, KEH. Good luck.
It sounds like he's wanting to buy a D850.

They are averaging about $2,000 with as low as 900 to approx. 15,000 shutter actuations on fredmiranda.com now. MBD18's are about $250 used and I just purchased two EN-EL18's with a battery age of '0' for $100 each, I received the BL-5's free with the batteries. I already had the charger for my D5. It's great, I now also have EN-EL18's for the D850 and my D500.

I would like to get the MDB 18s as well. Could you provide the link. Thanks very much.
I have been using the Vello BG-N19-2 grip with the EN-EL18 battery and the Nikon BL-5 battery cover on my D850 for about a year now with absolutely NO issues!!!
$80 on Amazon for the Vello
Probably gray market. It is being offered by an outfit called Pixibytes.
