WTP- Antique and old cameras...

Hi all,

I am always looking for antique and old cameras. Let me explain... I teach college photography classes and use the old cameras to explain the history of cameras and how that relates to the history of the time. A good example of this would be the fake Leica that has the German Olympic markings, which is actually Russian. The story of this camera revolves around WW2 and so I use it to explain the time and situation and how it relates to photography at that particular time.

Anyway, I will consider just about anything and have everything from a 120 year old Kodak A2 to a K2 and a disc camera to a Nikon Z7, and everything between those. All welcome to tell me what you have and I will consider.

Cordially,

Mark Lent

I have about 30 different film cameras that I collected over a period of 10 or more years when people were giving them to the local thrift stores. Now it is very seldom that I see one. Anyway, mine are not for sale. I have them in a display cabinet in my home office. These cameras are hard to come by now. I would never be able to replace them.

Are you in China? If not I may be able to help you. Shipping cost to China would be more the cost of the camera.

Yes, am in China, but would have you ship to my brother (who is also a photographer) in The Washington D.C. area and I would get them on my next visit and carry here myself, so shipping for both you and me is not crazy. Happy to pay for the shipping, too.

I have collected a rather large array of old cameras but most of them because they are not working and could be had for a fraction of the cost of museum quality. If you are not concerned about working I would be glad to tell you what I have that I would part with. Several Leica copies with names I cannot pronounce so are from Eastern Europe or USSR. Jambed but look OK. ETC

Seabastes in the buy/sell section in today's post is selling A Mamiya C3 2 1/4 system. Those were built like tanks. A twin lens camera could be of interest to your students.

Mark,

I have been selling some 120 camera gear that a friend owned and just gave his widow the money for a Mamiya C2 system and a Cirroflex 120, plus some filters, etc. I sold on her behalf.

Going through what is left, there is Argus C3 camera, not worth much money, but is a part of historic
American camera gear.

If you don't already have one, I will ask if it can be donated. If you do , I will post it for sale on UHH.
